NASN is North American sports.
A key feature of NASN will be the airing of up to 15 live games per week, including live games guaranteed for Saturday and Sunday peak time slots. In addition, the channel will showcase a large number of delayed games and the best sports news and entertainment shows acquired from the major North American sports broadcasters. Below is a taste of what you can expect:
· National Hockey League: NASN will bring you about 175 games per season. Of these up to 5 will be live games per week, the rest tape delayed. The All Star game, the Playoffs and the Stanley Cup will also be broadcasted live or tape-delayed. And for all you Canadian fans we will bring you 'Hockey Night in Canada', either live on Saturday night or taped delayed the next day. It doesn't get any more authentic than that!
· College Football: College football is about passionate and emotional fans, it's a short season and every game counts. NASN will bring you full coverage from the beginning of the season in September to the last second of the last Bowl game. In our first season, 2002, we will air most of the bowl games including the Orange Bowl, the Rose Bowl, the Sugar Bowl and the Fiesta Bowl, which will determine the 2002 National Champion. In 2003 we will bring you the best match-ups every week, from the Big Ten, the SEC, the PAC 10, and many more top leagues. Many of the college football games on NASN will be live on Saturday evening at 6pm and 9pm UK/Eire time.
· College Basketball: From the invitational tournaments at the end of November to the Big Dance in March, NASN will cover college basketball like a Hoya full court press. We will bring you up to 10 live and delayed games each week, from the Big East, the ACC, the Big Ten, the SEC, the PAC 10, the Big 12 and other top conferences. We will also cover the end-of-season conference tournaments leading to March Madness. As with college football, Saturday and Sunday afternoon basketball games will be broadcast live in UK/Eire primetime.
· March Madness: We will provide coverage of all the games and live broadcasts of every game from the Sweet Sixteen onwards, all the way to the Championship Game! A total of more than 30 live games from the Big Dance. We are drooling already!
· NASCAR - The Winston Cup Series: The Winston Cup Series is NASCAR's premiere race series. NASN expects to bring 30-35 of the 39 Winston Cup races live direct from NBC, Fox or TNT. We will stay live for full coverage of races. The other races will be brought to you tape delayed, the same or next day. A one-hour highlight program will also be available. Finally we will also air the NASCAR Truck Series. Smell the oil and hear the roar!
· Sports news, highlights and talk shows: We will be airing some of the best sports news, highlights and chat-shows direct from North America. These will include, depending on the season: ESPN Baseball Tonight, ESPN College Gameday, ESPN College Hoops Tonight, NHL Powerweek, ESPN NHL Tonight, MSG SportsDesk, MSG Angles, ESPN's Pardon the Interruption, ESPN's The Life, ESPN's The Season and ESPN's Around the Horn.
· Major League Baseball: We will air around 8-12 live and tape delayed games per week, including all of the League Divisional Series and League Championship Series, the All-Star Game and the World Series. That is over 250 games per year… and a lot of Barry Bonds home runs, Big Unit strike outs, ARod RBIs and Smoltz saves.
· Other sports: NCAA college sports (Women's Basketball Final Four, Hockey's Frozen Four, the College World Series, etc,) and Major League Soccer (MLS).
