BBC 4 is available on SkyDigital and is mainly a factually based channel.
It is broadcast during the week between the hours of 8am and 2am and at weekends between 6am and 12 midnight. This channel has been designed to provide the depth and analysis that other TV stations just can't match, whatever your interests.
BBC 4 runs the best of the BBC's factual based programmes often in extended special editions. This channel also specially commissions new programmes which delve deeper into specialist areas of interest.
The schedule of BBC 4 is divided into five distinctive subjects across the week and provides the opportunity of repeats and highlights during the weekend.
Monday is History day. Tuesday looks to the future with Science and Technology Wednesday delves into the world of Business and Finance. Thursday takes you around the world with Languages and European Culture and Friday focuses on the Arts.

With NASA announcing that its Martian rover Spirit is to rove no more on the red planet, there is an interview with Prof Steve Squyres, the principal investigator of the Mars Exploration Rover Mission, about the attempts to get it out of the sand dune which ensnared it in May 2009 and the agonising decision to stop the rescue.
